Washington, D.C Veteran Affairs Medical Center | Ladies' Night 2015

Updated: Apr 14, 2020

I was so incredibly happy to have the opportunity to volunteer at this event. The Veteran Affairs Medical Center is an organization that I have volunteered with throughout the semester. They recently had an event called Ladies Night which was held for female veterans in the DMV area. The event is given every year to introduce female Veterans and transitioning active duty personnel to their health care benefits and services. The event focused on health, beauty, and gave veterans a night to be pampered and also to get important health screening done. I worked closely with an amazing make-up artist, Dinea McAdams of ColorEyez Make Up Artistry, as her helper/assistant. If you know me then you know how exciting it was for me to work with a make-up artist on so many clients. Not only was there a make-up station, there were also hair stylists giving make-overs, a wig station, and a Mary Kay station. It was an absolutely beautiful event and I am so thankful that I was able to help.

I truly believe that everyone should feel beautiful and it was a dream come true to be able to do that for so many female veterans. I come from a family with a long history of military service so helping military families is something that is very close to my heart. No matter what causes you're passionate about, don't forget to give back and get involved in your community. xo
