Nigel Barker Models of Influence Book Signing | Outfit of the Day

Updated: Mar 18, 2020

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to meet Nigel Barker during his book signing for his newest book, Models of Influence. He is so incredibly sweet and looks exactly the same in person as he does on TV. Models of Influence chronicles 50 of the most influential models in fashion history and how they defined the industry during their time. Each chapter focuses on a different period in fashion and truly is an amazing read for anyone, like me, who has a love of fashion. If you haven't had the chance to read Models of Influence I definitely recommend checking it out here!

Outfit of the Day

For my outfit I wanted to wear something that could transition from day to night since I was having dinner with my friends after the event. I decided to dress up my favorite jeans with my suede black booties and over-sized white coat. Black and white (and neutrals in general) are definitely the foundation of my wardrobe. But I wanted to brighten up the look with some color so I wore my fuchsia bag to help bring out the floral print on my shirt. My advice for trying to figure out what to wear for a fun event like this would be start with your basics. For me those are neutrals. Then from there you can dress an outfit up or down by adding different pieces and playing around with it. Ultimately, as long as you feel confident and beautiful in whatever you're wearing that's all that matters...so have fun with it! xo

DCanter: A Wine Boutique

If you're in the DC area and are a wine person, I would definitely recommend stopping by DCanter Wine Boutique. This is where the book signing was held. The layout and decor of the place is amazing and was perfect for the occasion. They have so many different types of wine (at every price point) and even do wine tastings (which I am already planning on going back for ;) ).
