How to be a BOSS | feat. Recent Grad & Future International Attorney Lisa
Updated: Apr 14
If you haven’t read #GIRLBOSS by Sophia Amoruso, Founder and Executive Chairman of Nasty Gal, stop reading this and order it (you’ll thank me later). The concept of being a girl boss is nothing new. There are so many phenomenal women in the world who are bosses in their own right (think Oprah Winfrey, Michelle Obama, Sheryl Sandberg, Indra Nooyi…I could go on forever). But Amoruso definitely started a movement with this amazing book. This series is my take on that movement. I work in an extremely competitive male dominated industry so, as a woman building her career in corporate America, I have definitely learned a few things along the way. By no means do I think I’ve mastered this (I’m really just out here trying to figure it out like everyone else)…but I’m continuing to learn as I go. And as I develop I want to share that growth with you.
These are things I wish someone would have told me and also just lessons/advice from myself and some of the phenomenal women I am fortunate enough to have in my life. Being a boss is a mindset. It’s an attitude. It’s how you carry yourself. I want you to be inspired and motivated to chase your dreams, inside or outside of the boardroom. I want you to learn from my mistakes, advice, and stories and be the most confident version of you…aka a boss.
